Ground Breaking for Captiva's New Fire Station

The former Captiva Island  Fire Control District station was built in 1980 and it was raised on April 10th, 2014, to make way for the new expanded facility. This new facility will allow the district personnel to 
better provide fire and rescue services to the community of Captiva. Station anticipated to be finished early April 2015. 

Among those pictured below are John Bates, former fire chief  from 1980 - 2006.
